Factory and military
In the sweltering summer of 1976 Richard had to
take decisions on a number of important issues.
The reason for this was the increasing interference
of the KEN(ml) with Richards privacy. Not only the
personal life was political, but also the time ...
your agenda ... The argument that you didn't have
time, was dismissed with the argument: one day
has 24 hours ... let's see your calendar ... if you
would have too many tasks ... we need to talk about
your priorities. And you have to lose the student
way of live. Those who had a relation were getting
married ... they tried to hook up Richard to a LVK-girl.
And that long hair ... get a hair cut. How could you
be a shining example for the working class like that.
In short ... Richard called it a day. He had to appear
before court because of rent arrears, fortunately the
temp agency called that they had a job as quality
controller in a can factory ... three-shift system ...
but he had to pay off his debts ... Then he would
begin a new study. But first he would spent 1977 as
a soldier with the Grenadiers Guard Regiment in Arnhem.
